Originally an angel, sickened by having to be so nice and happy all the time, he decided to do evil things to fall to Earth (I'll let your imagination think what...) Only problem being that in order to keep his powers he couldn't cut off his wings (these being the source of his power/immortality). In a rage he scarrified his face and accidentally lost one of his eyes.
As he couldn't remove his wings but being revulsed by what they represented he cut into his chest to try and pull them inside his body. Unfortunately this didn't work and all he managed to do was pull the bone-roots out the front of his chest. These have gradually grown into fully functional spider-type legs. The wings have since then been tied up and unused.
Funny you should say that but I have been using this character (in a sort of edited way) in a forum RP. The game has stopped for the moment but may very well start again. Maybe I could 'comic up' the story so far...
